A little about Clover…

Milwaukee Based

We love to call Milwaukee home, and thought of no better community to start our business in than Bay View. From the unique shops that line Kinnickinnic Ave, to the bars and restaurants nestled in between - we knew this is where we wanted to be. When we first came together and the ideas were still brewing, we were solely operating online, and delivering plants around the greater Milwaukee area. Then some amazing local women reached out with an opportunity of a lifetime and we jumped on it! We first saw the space in December 2020, got the keys in January 2021 and eagerly opened our doors to the public on February 5th, 2021. We are so proud to work with so many Milwaukee based companies - from the art lining our walls created by local women, to the coffee we serve, to the merch that we sell - everything is made by the good people of our amazing city!

Female Founded

We founded Clover in 2020 after reconnecting through social media and realizing our shared desire to open a plant shop. After years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry, we intend to create a service oriented business that is approachable for everyone looking to add greenery to their homes. We feel that plants offer intrinsic values that are incomparable to common material goods - they clean our air, give us something to care for, create a healthy routine and add color & life to our homes! We also believe in supporting as many other women ventures as we can, from the local women artists filling up our walls to our macrame ladies, from our merch girls to our unique pottery chicas!

Sustainability Initiatives

We aim to reduce waste by re-purposing materials -whether that’s ceramic, wood, clay or glass- we will put a plant in it! As seen in our creative re-use collections, we try to create combinations that are both appealing as home decor and effective in our fight to protect our environment. If you have unused pots laying around at home you can bring them in as a donation and you will receive a 10% discount on your next purchase! Keeping our carbon footprint low, and limiting our “plant miles”, we source as many plants, pots and tools from local wholesale nurseries, family-owned greenhouses, and local creators to support our fellow small businesses. This results in truly one-of-a-kind gifts, for yourself or a fellow plant lover! We also sell locally printed tote bags - if you bring yours back into the shop to “tote” away your plants you receive a 10% discount on your purchase for helping us on our mission to create less waste! Together, we can make a difference!

Maggie Murphy

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Maggie’s passion for plants stems back to her parents, who ingrained in her the importance of Mother Nature at an early age. Growing up in a house filled with plants, and a yard brimming with flowers, her love for all things green comes as no surprise. Devoting over a decade to Milwaukee’s service industry, Maggie has met people from all walks of life, finding the most genuine interactions come with those who share her lust for travel and the outdoors. When she’s not tending to her houseplants, you can find her camping, kayaking and enjoying the local beaches with her family.

Sissy Butner

An amateur horticulturalist and plant enthusiast, Sissy has always loved finding, growing, and gifting houseplants. Having moved from Kansas City in 2014 to attend school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she fell in love with the city and now happily calls Milwaukee home.

While she enjoys growing her own herbs and vegetables in the warmer months, she resorted to filling her home with every plant she could find, building a collection of well over 100 houseplants. When she’s not caring for her plants, she is spending time with her partner and dog at home or hiking Wisconsin trails.

Whether your approach to plants are through herbs for teas or cooking, perennial garden beds, an annual veggie garden, or a houseplant on your desk, she would love to help you get started!
